The Leo sign is one of the funniest signs in the zodiac. People born under this sign naturally have a great sense of humor and enjoying making others laugh just as much as they enjoy it themselves. Leos are very warm and generous by nature and usually have many creative gifts, which they share with the people around them. Leos are prone to laziness and can be a bit stubborn, but when they are able to find the balance between their innate creativity and their natural lazy instincts, Leos thrive in any situation and social setting.
Entertaining a Leo is pretty easy because they're always open to new ideas and experiences. For Leos looking for a good movie on a night in, here are some musical movie titles to check out, and a couple to avoid.
10 Love: Hamilton
Because the Leo sign is so creative and passionate about the things they make, they have an incredible ability to appreciate others' creativity and passion as well.
One of the best musicals in recent years, Hamilton, from the incredibly imaginative Lin Manuel-Miranda, is now available on Disney+ and is a film every Leo should check out if they haven't done so already.
9 Hate: Cats
When Cats the Broadways musical first came out, it was probably something a lot of Leos were interested in seeing and could appreciate, but now that the show has been on Broadway for so long, the film adaptation seems a little played out and the lack of creativity in the film's execution is not what a Leo wants to spend time seeing.
Most Leos would be better off seeing this musical live in its staged version, if they see it at all.
8 Love: The Last Five Years
One of the main reasons Leos will love Jason Robert Brown's musical turned movie, The Last Five Years is because the story is told in such a unique way.
This musical could have easily been just another love story, but Jason Robert Brown tells it using two separate timelines. Cathy's timeline starts at the end of the love story and goes backward, while her husband Jamie's storyline starts at the beginning and moves forward.
7 Hate: The Greatest Showman
On the surface, this musical feature film, starring Hugh Jackman and a stellar ensemble cast, seems to have everything a Leo would love. The music is great and the costumes and set design are epic and each number is executed really well.
The problem for Leos is that they love theater and it's classic storytelling and this musical may push the envelope on the distinct musical theater style a little too much for a Leo to be able to appreciate it.
6 Love: Oklahoma
People born under the Leo sign are big theater geeks, in the best way possible. These people probably loved participating in school plays and know a lot about musical theater, which is why they can appreciate some of the classics that may feel more outdated to other star signs.
The musical movie, Oklahoma, is a favorite for Leos because it is the quintessential musical of its time and one that they find very nostalgic.
5 Hate: A Star Is Born
Calling Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, A Star is Born, a musical will most likely make ayn Leo cringe.
This movie, packed full of original music and starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, is actually the fourth remake of the classic story, and most Leos would probably rather watch the Judy Garland version of the film for its nostalgia and classic storytelling and songs.
4 Love: The Wizard Of Oz
This is another Judy Garland led film that Leos love and probably grew up watching. This classic musical film is considered one of the greatest movies of all time and its music is still played and recognized today by most people.
Leos love the classic appeal of The Wizard of Oz and the nostalgic feelings watching it brings up. It's no wonder this film has received so much praise over the years and is considered an important piece of history in the film world.
3 Hate: Mamma Mia
Jukebox musicals are not something most Leos will want to watch, especially one like Mamma Mia.
In this musical, the songs from the popular '70s group, ABBA, are put into a story that struggles to justify having this kind of music in it. Not only does the story not line up with the music, but the story is full of plot holes and inconsistencies that actually make it rather difficult to follow, which will frustrate most Leos.
2 Love: La La Land
La La Land is the best of both worlds for most Leos.
This musical feature film pays homage to classic Hollywood musicals with a lot of ensemble dance numbers and classic song arrangements, but it's set in modern times and tells a modern love story of two struggling artists, played by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Leos will love this musical feature film for a lot of reasons and it appeals to everything a Leo finds important and entertaining.
1 Hate: Jersey Boys
This is another jukebox musical, directed by Clint Eastwood, that shouldn't be on a Leos list. It tells the true story of the popular group, The Four Seasons, and their rise to musical fame, but it lacks the originality and imagination that most Leos need to be entertained.
There's also not a lot of humor in the film, and since Leos love to laugh, they expect there to be some funny moments in whatever it is they're watching.
