The Mandalorian Season 2 Has Another Episode Directed by Bryce Dallas Howard

The Mandalorian Season 2 will have another episode directed by Bryce Dallas Howard. The actress and filmmaker is most known for her roles in the Jurassic World series, Spider-Man 3, and Rocketman. Howard's directing experience includes her work on Call Me Crazy: A Five FilmDads, and season 1 episode 4 of The Mandalorian, titled "Chapter 4: The Sanctuary."

Episode 4 revolved around Mando and Baby Yoda seeking refuge on a remote, forest planet while hiding out. In the episode, Mando meets former Rebel Shock Trooper, Cara Dune (Gina Carano), and the two become allies. While hiding out in a small village, the village residents are attacked by a band of raiders. Mando and Cara then team up with locals to fight off the raiders and an AT-ST. Among some great action set pieces and some further development of Mando's character, the episode also gave fans the famous Baby Yoda soup sipping meme. The episode was well-received, which will make fans happy about Howard's recent announcement.

In an interview with Collider, Bryce Dallas Howard discussed her recent projects. After complimenting Howard on her recent works, the interviewer asks what Howard is what future projects she's working on. To this, Howard responds, "I directed an episode on the second season of Mandalorian, so that’s already done. Which is wonderful, so I’m looking forward to that coming out later this year."

The Mandalorian was an instant hit, and one of the most popular shows of 2019. Ever since the season 1 finale, both rumors and confirmed news surrounding the show have been springing up each week. In confirmed news, Sam Hargrave, who directed Extraction, is being brought in on season 2 to add more action. Additionally, the infamous Boba Fett is set to appear in the second season of the show, to what will likely be much fanfare. In rumor news, some fans are wondering if Boba's appearance on the Disney+ series could set up another series that focuses directly on Boba.

Howard did not provide any additional details about the episode or the show, but her confirmation puts her among a list of several season 1 directors who will also be returning to the show. Other returning directors include Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, and Rick Famuyiwa. The new season will bring new directors as well, including Carl Weathers (who also portrayed Greef Karga). Since Howard has proven herself as a talented actress and director, fans will no doubt be thrilled that she is returning to The Mandalorian as a director.
