Marvel is Marketing Black Widow Via Esports Teams | Screen Rant

The professional eSports players of Team Liquid have partnered with Marvel Entertainment to help promote the upcoming Black Widow movie. Although the film, which sees Scarlett Johansson once again reprising her role as the titular Marvel superhero, was originally slated to release on May 1st, 2020, it has since been pushed back to a later date, alongside a slew of other films and events, and will now be available in theaters on November 6th, 2020.

Now, thanks to a new report from Dot Esports, players and esport viewers know that Team Liquid has "partnered with Marvel Entertainment to create the new Black Widow collection." This collection consists of a red and black jersey which will cost buyers $84 and features both the logos of Team Liquid and Black Widow, alongside other clothing like a zippered jacket, a long-sleeve and cropped t-shirt, and a hoodie. According to Dot Esports, "this apparel will feature a comic-style illustration" of Black Widow in front of a depiction of the superhero's logo.

Despite Black Widow being the only Marvel movie releasing in 2020, or perhaps because of it, there is considerable anticipation surrounding the film's release, thanks partly due to its delayed premiere but also due to the fact that many viewers have been waiting for a solo Black Widow movie ever since, or even before, the first Avengers movie released. While fans may have to wait a little longer to see the super-spy in action, hopefully this new collaboration with Team Liquid will help eSport and Black Widow fans weather the wait a little easier.
