DCEU: Every Post-Credit Scene, Ranked | ScreenRant

Something that has been popularized by major blockbusters, primarily comic book movies, has been the use of scenes that come during and after the credits. Most of the time, mid-credit and post-credit scenes are used to set up and tease future projects, but they can sometimes be used to add something extra to the movie, like another moment of humor or another small insight into a major character that would usually end up being cut.

So far, the DC Extended Universe has been no exception, with every single movie in the franchise having an additional scene. Some of them have been great, but others have not been worth waiting through the credits for.

8 Aquaman

The post-credit scene of Aquaman shows David Kane AKA Black Manta wearing his damaged suit and drifting in the ocean on a loose board after being defeated by Arthur before being discovered by a boat.

When Kane wakes up inside the ship, he sees Dr. Stephen Shin examining his suit. Kane advises him not to mess with it before the laser beam blasts from the eye, blowing a hole in the roof of the boat. Shin asks Kane to tell him where he got the Atlantean technology and Kane agrees, but only if Shin tells him how to find Aquaman. Then he throws a knife at a newspaper clipping talking about the hero, hinting at the character's return in the sequel.

7 Birds Of Prey

While Birds of Prey doesn't have a normal post-credit scene, there is a small gag that plays after the credits have finished rolling. With the screen still black, fans hear the voice of Harley Quinn come on and say she'll let us know a secret for sticking around. She then starts to ask “Did you know that Batman f– ” before getting cut off.

It's not exactly clear what she was going to say, but one guess is that she was planning on saying that "Batman f**ks bats," which is an ongoing joke on the Harley Quinn animated series.

6 Shazam!

The mid-credit scene of Shazam! shown Dr. Sivana in prison, writing symbols all over the walls of his cell when he hears a voice laughing and speaking to him. He looks around to see who's talking before realizing the source of the voice is a nearby worm wearing a communication device who then tells him about all the things they're going to achieve together before bursting out into an evil laugh.

The alien worm is Mister Mind, a popular Shazam villain from the comics that possesses a super-genius intellect. The short scene teases not only a reappearance of the character, but a team-up between him and Doctor Sivana in a future movie, potentially even in Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

5 Shazam!

One of the best moments of Shazam! is the montage in which Freddy and Billy try to test the limits of Billy's new superpowers. The post-credit scene shows a moment from that sequence that wasn't shown with the others. Billy and Freddy are in Freddy's room and Billy holds up a fishbowl containing a goldfish, trying to see if he can talk to fish.

At first, it seems that Billy actually can, but then he tells the sea creature that "there's plenty of fish in the sea," and it becomes clear to Freddy that he's being messed with. Billy starts laughing and asks what he could even do with a power like that before Freddy tugs at his Aquaman shirt.

4 Wonder Woman 1984

The post-credit scene of the most recent DCEU entry, Wonder Woman 1984, shows a woman walking through a market when a banner and the pole holding it up starts to fall. The woman nonchalantly catches it with one hand and stops it from crushing a woman and her baby, much to the surprise of the people around her. When the woman she saved comes to thank her and ask her how she did it, she turns to reveal herself to be Asteria and says that it's a simple shift of weight and that she's been doing this for a long time.

Asteria is played by Lynda Carter in the movie, and she's best known for playing Wonder Woman in the 70s TV series, so this entire moment was a nod to her time as the character.

3 Suicide Squad

The post-credit scene of Suicide Squad shows Bruce Wayne and Amanda Waller sitting in an empty restaurant. Waller states that she's giving him information in exchange for his protection from people asking questions about Midway City before handing him a file containing details on several super-powered individuals, including Arthur Curry and Barry Allen. As he walks out, she asks why he wanted the files, Wayne responds that "he likes to make friends".

Waller then tells him to stop working nights, and he responds that if she doesn't shut down her operation, he and his friends will. The scene was a direct tease for Justice League, which would be the next movie in the franchise after Wonder Woman, and would see Bruce assembling the iconic team of heroes.

2 Justice League

The post-credit scene from Justice League shows Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke boarding a yacht belonging to Lex Luthor, who managed to escape Arkham Asylum and replace himself with a look-alike. Lex offers him a drink and mentions Superman's resurrection, referencing the fact that he and the other heroes have formed a team. He then suggests that "they have to level the playing field" and should form a League of their own.

While the scene ultimately went nowhere, it was seemingly setting up the Legion of Doom, an all-villain team that occasionally goes up against the League, which is definitely something fans would have loved to see in a future movie.

1 Justice League

The mid-credit scene of the movie shows Superman and Flash talking and preparing to race each other to the Pacific. Clark jokes that if he wins Barry will be kicked off the team and then says that Bruce said that if Barry loses he had to buy the entire team brunch. Barry agrees but only if he can tell the entire team if he wins, and they shake hands before the both of them zoom off.

The moment ripped straight from the comics in which the pair have raced against each other multiple times and is mostly just a moment for comic book fans.
